Founded by Ellen Wu in 2006, Brilliance Steel has become a leading New Zealand-owned steel reinforcing product distributor supplying the country’s construction sector.

Today Ellen leads our team of more than 70 staff who are all committed to producing quality products that meet the strict requirements of the New Zealand Building Code.

We supply our products nationwide and are currently expanding our installation service across the country. We have more than 800 customers and lots of our clients have worked with us for many years across various projects.

Every project is unique and so are its steel requirements. Ordering reinforcing steel products should be a simple process. We are a ‘one-stop-shop’ – we can look after the entire process from detailing the original plans, to final on-site placement and fixing. We can also help with other steel products and speciality requests. Our Quantity Surveying team includes 10 skilled surveyors and we have more than 40 steel fixers to provide a highly efficient service.

Strict quality control

To meet the strict requirements of the New Zealand Building Code (AS/NZS4671: 2019 Code of Compliance), all of our suppliers are ACRS-approved mills and our on-site laboratory thoroughly test all our products. We also recently gained the ISO certification, ISO 9001, for our approved quality management system.

Reliability and consistency

You can be assured that we provide a consistent and reliable supply of reinforcing steel. We ensure timely deliveries, helping you maintain your project timelines and stay on schedule. We have a large number of trucks and drivers to ensure our products are delivered on time and our project managers sit in position to manage your projects.

Health and safety experts

Health and safety management is extremely important to us, which is why our team was awarded a SiteWise gold certificate demonstrating that we have high quality health and safety systems in place. We also recently gained the ISO certification, ISO 45001, for our approved management system for occupational health and safety.

Sustainability

We are increasing our focus on sustainability to minimise our environmental impact and meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly construction materials. We recently gained the ISO certification, ISO 14001, for our approved environmental management system. We are also a member of the Sustainable Steel Council and New Zealand Green Building Council.
